Why MINE2 Exists
Mine2 began with a moment no parent ever expects.
A teenager went to a party. What should have been an ordinary night became something else entirely — an experience that left her shaken, hurt, and changed.
In the days that followed, her parent did what most parents would do:
trying to understand what had happened, trying to support their child, and trying to navigate what to do next.
But alongside the shock came something else —
confusion, uncertainty, and a lack of clear guidance.
Where do you go?
Who do you speak to?
What are you supposed to do first?
Our Principles
●
Safeguarding First
Everything we do is designed to protect children.
We never share identifying information, we carefully review all content, and we prioritise safety over visibility at all times.
●
Clarity Over Confusion
In difficult moments, parents need clear, simple guidance.
We break down complex systems - schools, safeguarding, support services - so you can understand what to do next.
●
Support Without Judgement
There is no “perfect” way to respond when your child has been harmed.
We provide a calm, non-judgemental space where parents can find reassurance, understanding, and direction.
●
Action Over Silence
Too many families are left unsure and unsupported.
We exist to help parents take the next step — connecting them to trusted support and encouraging earlier, safer intervention.
Then something unexpected happened
When the experience was shared publicly, messages began to come in.
From parents.
From families.
From people across the country.
All saying the same thing:
“This happened to my child too.”
“We didn’t know where to turn.”
“We felt completely alone.”
What felt like an isolated experience wasn’t isolated at all.
A pattern became clear
The issue wasn’t that support didn’t exist.
It was that, in the moment it was needed most,
parents didn’t know:
where to find it
how to access it
or what to do first
And in that gap, families were left to figure things out on their own.
Why Mine2 was created
Mine2 was created to close that gap.
To make sure that when something happens:
parents don’t feel alone
support is easier to find
the next step is clearer
and families are guided, not overwhelmed
What Drives Us?
This isn’t about one story.
It’s about the thousands of parents who quietly carry the same experience.
Mine2 exists so that no parent has to think:
“Why didn’t I know what to do?”
Looking forward
Mine2 is not about reliving what happened.
It’s about what happens next.
Supporting parents
Protecting children
Strengthening responses
And making sure families are never left without a path forward
